The Easiest Way to Upgrade Any Sink in Your Home

There’s one very simple way to upgrade any sink area in your home. It’s a small change, but it makes a noticeable difference.

And with places like Amazon, HomeGoods, Target, even Walmart, it’s also extremely affordable to do.

Swap your plastic soap dispensers for refillable ones.

So often I see nice kitchens or bathrooms feel slightly off simply because of branded plastic soap bottles sitting on the counter.

If that’s you - this is a very simple upgrade.

Why it makes such a difference:

  • Instantly elevates your space and creates a cohesive, intentional look

  • Small decorative pieces vs. something you’ll run out of and replace

  • Removes visual clutter - those bright labels and brand names really stand out and plastic typically looks cheap

Why I love swaps like this

These are the kinds of changes I’ve had the most fun making through the years, and a big part of why I started Elevation Daily.

It’s not always practical to do full overhaul, but small and manageable upgrades like this are what eventually get you there.

When your space feels more cohesive and elevated, you naturally enjoy it, take pride in it, and appreciate it more.

That’s the goal.

More than just an aesthetic touch

This swap isn’t just about looks.

Once you have refillable dispensers, you can buy soaps you love in bulk and refill them over time - which usually ends up being more cost-effective.

It’s one of those upgrades that looks better and makes more sense long term.

Go the extra mile

We keep both hand soap and dish soap in refillable dispensers.

It keeps our kitchen sink looking clean - no plastic on the counter or reaching under the sink for dish soap.

The key to making it cohesive

There are hundreds (honestly, thousands) of refillable dispenser options out there. The key is choosing something that fits your space.

If your home has consistent finishes (black hardware, brushed brass, chrome, etc.), try to match your dispensers to those details.

For example, I have a lot of black accents and natural textured decor throughout my home, so I use similar style dispensers with black pumps and put the same dispensers in both our kitchen and bathrooms to keep everything cohesive.

What to look for

  • Glass, stone, or ceramic over plastic

  • Neutral tones look best (clear, white, amber, black)

  • A sturdy pump, in a finish that matches your home decor

  • Simple labeling or no labeling at all (some come with labels and maybe that fits your aesthetic)

What we use

These are the soap dispensers we have → Natural Texture Soap Dispensers
They are simple, neutral, and easy to refill. The come in a two -pack and have now been going strong for over a year with no issues.

Final thoughts

This is one of those upgrades that takes little of your time or energy but completely changes how your space feels.

Small, simple, and intentional, with a big impact!
