Ginger Lemon Tea Cubes

If you’re trying to implement changes to heal your insides and support overall body function, you must try my lemon ginger tea cubes.

I’m positive I did not invent this combo. However, I’ve simplified this recipe and it yields tea cubes for weeks.

What is a Tea Cube?

Simple - it’s a frozen blend of ingredients that turns into tea once hot water is added.

Why it’s worth your time

Ginger and lemon offer powerful health benefits like immune support, improved digestion, reduced bloating and inflammation, nausea relief and healthy skin support. With many foods today still using inflammatory ingredients, this is such a simple way to support your body daily.

I prefer these tea cubes in the morning for a few reasons. As mentioned, ginger intake is a great way to kickstart digestion.

But something less commonly talked about is what your body prefers upon waking - after 8 hours of metabolic rest, it wants warm and nourishing foods and beverages.

Drinking a warm cup of this real lemon ginger tea before breakfast or your morning caffeine is an easy win for your routine.

What you’ll need

  • Juicer: We have this low-cost Amazon juicer, but any juicer will work! If you prefer your ingredients not to go through plastic, here is a more non-toxic option.

  • Ice cube trays with lids: The lids are key to keeping the cubes fresh. I use this brand from Amazon and love them. They come in a two-pack, and if making a big batch, I recommend 6 trays. When we have more than what fits in the cube trays, I save the remainder in the fridge for fresh juice shots.

  • 8-10 lemons: Organic for cleanest tea results.

  • A few handfuls of whole ginger: Organic for cleanest tea results.

  • A mixing bowl or measuring cup with a pour spout: Make sure it fits under your juicer spout.

  • Filtered water

  • Freezer

How to make them

  1. Set up your juicer, and have your empty cube trays clean and ready to be filled.

  2. Peel or spoon-peel your ginger (it’s okay if a little peel is left on, here and there, but try to get most of it off - it likes to clog up the juicer blade).

  3. Peel your lemons like you would an orange, leaving the entire fruit whole (pictured below).

  4. Juice all your lemons and ginger into a large mixing bowl or measuring cup with a pour spout, alternating between 1-2 lemons and a few chunks of ginger at a time. Play with the ratio - more lemon or more ginger depending on your preference. I eyeball everything and it always turns out great.

  5. Once juiced, add about 1–2 cups of filtered water to the mix. Again this is all preference based, less water = stronger cubes.

  6. Fill your trays.

TIP: You might have to stop and fill your trays in between, so once your container is full, mix your desired water in and fill some trays, then start juicing again!

Final Thoughts

These lemon ginger cubes have changed our routine for the better, and now we always keep them on hand. They warm our stomachs, keep us regular, and taste so wonderful! While i
